The firm’s competition practice is concentrated on merger control filings before the Competition Authority (Rekabet Kurumu) and on the assessment of distribution, dealership and supply arrangements under competition law.
We represent the parties to notifiable transactions in the filing process and undertakings under investigation before the Authority, and advise on the review of distribution and dealership networks against the block exemption communiqués.
Work begins with an assessment of whether the turnover thresholds set by the Competition Board are met. Under the Act on the Protection of Competition no. 4054, a merger or acquisition that requires clearance does not become legally valid until it is cleared, and a transaction is deemed to have been cleared where the Board takes no action within thirty days of the notification entering the records of the Authority.
